HOURS after officially assuming leadership, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief Colonel Peter B. Madria convened his first full command conference on Monday, March 30, 2026,
Meeting with the DCPO command group, staff officers, and all station commanders, Madria used the conference to establish his “no-nonsense” brand of leadership, which is focused on discipline, professionalism, and proactive public safety.
Each station commander and unit head presented detailed briefings on their current operational challenges, staff functions, and localized crime concerns.
Madria scrutinized these reports to align the city’s various units with his overarching vision for a safer Davao.
By addressing the specific concerns of his ground commanders, the new city director sought to bridge the gap between administrative policy and street-level execution.
The centerpiece of the conference was Madria’s directive to intensify the police’s anti-crime campaign. He instructed all units to move beyond reactive policing and instead strengthen proactive measures to intercept criminal activity before it impacts the community.
“Our commitment is to ensure the continued safety and security of every Davaoeño,” Madria said.
He further assured his personnel of his “full support” in addressing the resource gaps and operational hurdles raised by the commanders. In turn, the DCPO leadership and support units reaffirmed their collective commitment to Madria’s new directives.
