THE NATIONAL Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) will conduct the 1st Quarter Cash Gift Distribution of 2026 across the Davao Region from March 16 to 27.
A total of 3,742 senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100 are expected to receive their cash gifts.
During Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday, March 9,Filbert Bryan Sollesta, NCSC XI project development officer, clarified the cash gift is not an ayuda or financial assistance but a recognition for the elderly’s contribution to nation-building.
The Expanded Centenarians Act or Republic Act No. 11982 of 2024 provides cash gifts to senior citizens who reach specific milestone ages: P10,000 for 80, 85, 90, and 95, and P100,000 for 100 years old.
Across the entire region, the total number of grantees per age category is 2,002 (80 y/o), 1,125 (85 y/o), 461 (90 y/o), 132 (95 y/o), and 22 (100 y/o).
Of the number, 971 are from Davao City, which constitute 525 (80 years old); 311 (85 y/o); 105 (90 y/o); 28 (95 y/o); and two are 100 year olds.
Meanwhile a total of 605 are from Davao de Oro: 320 are 80 years old; 182 (85 y/o); 81 (90 y/o); 15 (95 y/o); and seven are 100 year olds.
Davao del Norte on the other hand have a total number of 811, constituting 80 y/o: 450; 224 (85 y/o); 92 (90 y/o); 39 (95 y/o); and six are 100 years olds.
Davao Oriental posted 505 beneficiaries, where 265 are 80 y/o; 162 (85 y/o); 52 (90 y/o); 23 (95 y/o); and three are 100 years olds.
For Davao del Sur, there are total 674 beneficiaries: 370 are 80 y/o; 191 (85 y/o); 92 (90 y/o); 20 (95 y/o); and one (100 y/o).
Davao Occidental posted 176 beneficiaries where 72 are 80 y/o; 55 (85 y/o); 39 (90 y/o); seven (95 y/o); and three (100 y/o).
Grantees are advised to coordinate directly with their local OSCA or LSWDO to confirm their specific schedule and venue.
To claim the cash gift, beneficiaries must submit a photocopy of their OSCA ID, signed or thumb-marked three times.
Sollesta said for those unable to appear personally due to medical reasons, an authorized representative may claim the gift by presenting an NCSC-template Authorization Letter, a Barangay or Medical Certificate, a whole-body photo of the grantee with a current month calendar, and photocopies of both the grantee’s and representative’s IDs with three specimen signatures.
The agency reminded the family members to ensure the beneficiaries make use of their cash gift to fulfill their immediate needs.
“We ask the family members to let the seniors enjoy their cash gift they will receive,” he emphasized.
