THE NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation-Southern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-Semro) executed a warrant of arrest in Ecoland on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, on a target suspect for allegedly raping his own daughter.
Atty. Arcelito C. Albao, NBI-Semro regional director, said alias Martin was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 33, Davao City.
The suspect was charged with violating Republic Act No. 8353, as amended by R.A. 11648, which penalizes qualified rape of a minor.
Albao said they received a complaint from alias Nora, who alleged that alias Martin sexually assaulted his own four-year-old daughter. However, he declined to provide further details due to the sensitivity of the case.
The matter was investigated by the Office of the City Prosecutor, Davao City, beginning on Jan. 27, 2025, before the warrant was issued.
Albao confirmed that the subject is in custody and will be turned over to the appropriate judicial authority for further legal action.
Commitment to child protection
Albao said that the NB affirms its steadfast commitment to protecting children and supporting victims of sexual violence.
The director emphasized that coordination of medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance for the victim will continue in close partnership with child protection units, social welfare agencies, and medical providers.
“The NBI will exhaust every lawful avenue to hold perpetrators of such heinous acts to account,” Albao said.
