MISS Earth Australia 2025 Alexa Heather Ladao Roder paid a courtesy visit to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Davao City Chapter and the Hall of Justice on Thursday. She met with lawyers and judges to discuss legal and environmental advocacy.
Roder, a Davaoeña who is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws (Honors) in Australia, met with Atty. Ferdinand Taglucop, president of the IBP Davao City Chapter. Their discussion focused on legal aid initiatives for Davaoeños both in the Philippines and in Australia, as well as potential areas for cooperation in providing access to justice.
As part of her visit, Roder also paid a courtesy call at the Davao City Hall of Justice, where she met with Judge Maria Cecelia Esperanza Braceros-Agbon of MTCC Branch 7 (Environmental Court) and Judge January Faye Risonar-Bello of MTCC Branch 13 (General Jurisdiction Court).
During their meeting, Roder and the judges exchanged insights on the importance of environmental laws in both the Philippines and Australia, emphasizing the shared responsibility of the legal community in protecting natural resources and promoting sustainability.
Roder’s visit also carried a personal touch: her mother is a lawyer, and she herself is pursuing a law career in Australia.
As Miss Earth Australia 2025, she hopes to bridge her dual passions for law and environmental advocacy, using her platform to inspire awareness and action across both nations.
