LAW ENFORCERS arrested a “high-value individual” and confiscated over ₱176,000 worth of suspected shabu, along with his unlicensed firearm, during an entrapment at 2:25 p.m. in Ward 42, Midland Village, Barangay Ma-a on Monday, April 20.
Personnel from Police Station 16 (Ma-a), led by commander Maj Philip Dave Uddin, carried out the sting operation that led to the arrest of alias James Artel. Authorities also recovered a .38 caliber revolver from the suspect’s possession.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Col Peter Bauzon Madria credited the support of the barangay officials and the community for the arrest.
“This accomplishment is a testament to our collective determination to rid Davao City of illegal drugs,” Madria said. “We are not only protecting the present; we are securing the future of our youth and generations to come.”
The city police chief emphasized that while the police remain aggressive in their manhunt for drug peddlers, the community serves as the first line of defense.
“The fight against illegal drugs is not the sole responsibility of the police; it is a shared mission that demands vigilance, unity, and action from all of us,” he added.
The suspect is currently under police custody and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
