THE PHILIPPINE Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) XI announced on Aug. 18 for the ‘Yaman ng Kalusugan Para Malayo sa Sakit’ (YAKAP) program that offers enhanced benefits on cancer screenings and new services for its members.

After its rebranding in July, the program is an enhancement of the coverage of Konsulta while retaining the essential primary care services, with six diagnostic tests for cancers being introduced.

Healthcare delivery and management division chief Dr. Marie Allexis Campaner-Belen said 75 medical drugs have been included in the package that members can avail for P20,000 per year and per head.

She added that there are presently 148 YAKAP facilities all over Davao Region. The regional office is currently in the phase of accrediting PhilHealth GAMOT (Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment) dispensaries.

“So, these [dispensaries] are outpatient facilities that are to dispense all of the 75 drugs under PhilHealth GAMOT to all our eligible members,” Campaner-Belen said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw.

Kleah Gayle Guevara, public relations officer, urged the public and the members to register themselves with accredited primary care providers under YAKAP.
