GMAC LOGITECH Refrigeration Corporation launched its 11-728-pallet cold storage facility on Mar 9 at the Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE) in Panabo City to boost food preservation and security in Mindanao.

The facility is the largest cold storage in Davao Region to meet the growing demands of farmers and growers, and food processing companies in Mindanao. It is also a joint venture between Glacier Megafridge Inc. and AC Logistics Holdings Corporation to support the cold chain network across the Philippines.

“Davao del Norte has long been a center of agricultural productivity, from bananas to fisheries and other high-value products. But for our farmers and producers to truly succeed, they need modern systems that protect the value of their harvest and bring their products efficiently to markets,” 2nd District of Davao del Norte Rep. Jose Manuel Lagdameo said during the launching.

GMAC Davao contains 12 cold rooms, 17 loading docks, six tons of blast freezer capacity, and a 242 sqm processing area ready for any meat cutting activities.

Plant capabilities include a standard freezer temperature between 1°C and 5°C, an ice cream freezer grade at -25°C, a banana chiller temperature of 13°C, and others.

Located within AIE, GMAC Davao is strategically near the Davao International Container Terminal, Inc. (DICT), one of the most modern container port terminals in the Philippines, and is 20-25 kilometers away from the Davao Port in Sasa.

Damosa Land, Inc. and GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corp. inaugurated the cold storage at AIE on Mar 12, 2024, to help Davao Region attain its development goals.

GMAC’s nationwide cold chain networks in Mindanao presently have three locations: Cagayan de Oro City, Zamboanga City, and Panabo City.
