JOINT security forces intercepted a high-value drug personality and confiscated over ₱200,000 worth of suspected shabu during a midnight inspection at the Lasang checkpoint early Thursday, Sept. 3.

Personnel from Police Station 6 (Bunawan) and elements of the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies (CMFC) and Task Force Davao flagged down the suspect at around 12:30 a.m. at the fixed joint border checkpoint in Sitio Licanan, Barangay Lasang.

They reportedly discovered packets of suspected shabu in plain view while conducting a routine check. The seized contraband weighed an estimated total with a standard drug price value of ₱201,114.

In a statement, Davao City Police Office chief PCOL Madria commended the team for their vigilance at the city’s entry points, reaffirming the push to tighten border security against illegal narcotics trafficking.

“The Davao City Police Office remains committed to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations. We urge the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts in maintaining a safe and drug-free Davao City,” Madria said.

The suspect is currently held in police custody and faces formal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
