DCPO seizes over ₱10M in drugs, arrests 174 in September anti-crime blitz

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) launched a successful anti-criminality blitz in September 2025, netting over ₱10.6 million worth of illegal drugs and arresting 174 drug personalities as part of its four focused directives.

The month-long operation, led by acting city director Col Mannan C. Muarip, also resulted in the capture of 165 fugitives.

In its relentless campaign against all forms of criminality, the DCPO recorded significant milestones across four key areas:

Anti-illegal drugs

The DCPO conducted 146 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 174 drug personalities. 

Confiscated items included approximately 929.7 grams of shabu and over 34.7 kilograms of marijuana. The total estimated street value of the seized drugs reached ₱10,664,077.24.

Arrest of wanted persons

Through intensified manhunt operations, the DCPO apprehended a total of 165 individuals, including 68 most wanted persons and 97 other wanted individuals, reflecting the DCPO’s resolve in bringing fugitives to justice.

Anti-illegal gambling

Police cracked down on illegal gambling with 165 operations, leading to the arrest of 68 individuals and the confiscation of ₱22,470.00 in bet money. 

These operations resulted in the filing of 54 cases in court.

Campaign against loose firearms

The campaign against loose firearms involved 21 operations that led to the arrest of seven individuals and the confiscation of 10 firearms. 

Additionally, five firearms were voluntarily surrendered, four were recovered, and three were turned in for safekeeping under Oplan Katok. A total of 7 related cases were filed.

Muarip emphasized that the success of its operations is a direct result of the active participation of the community and local partners in the ongoing fight against criminality, making Davao City safer and more resilient.
