DCPO reports 120 arrests in week-long crackdown on illegal activities

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 120 suspects in different anti-crime operations from Nov. 16 to Nov. 22.

During that period, acting city police director Col Mannan Muarip said they conducted 44 anti-illegal drug operations leading to 52 arrests. They also confiscated 130.2720 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value (SDP) of P885,849.60

Also, police confiscated marijuana weighing 1,042.5000 grams, with an estimated street value (SDP) of P125,100.

A total of 42 fugitives were apprehended during the week, including 24 individuals classified as most wanted persons. Simultaneously, 18 anti-illegal gambling operations resulted in 25 arrests, the seizure of P5,800 in bet money, and the filing of 18 cases in court.

Loose firearms operations

In a bid to reduce the proliferation of illegal weapons, the DCPO conducted five operations on loose firearms leading to one arrest and one confiscation of a weapon. Meanwhile, two firearms were surrendered and another two firearms turned in for safe keeping under “Oplan Katok.”
