THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has filed three criminal cases against individuals responsible for spreading online threats targeting local schools.
Newly promoted LTCOL Maria Teresita Gaspan, DCPO spokesperson, announced the development during the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps media briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026.
Gaspan noted that proactive security measures and swift legal actions have deterred potential offenders.
“So, far for now there have been none after we have filed cases against individuals who were identified through the cybercrime, so for now we have not received any online threats… I think what we are doing is effective considering that those who want to take advantage of the situation lie a little bit,” she said.
In response to previous online scares, police presence across campuses has been intensified, with officers deployed to conduct regular patrols and coordinate closely with school administrators.
Several institutions have also requested simulation exercises (simex) involving learners, teachers, and parents to prepare communities for crisis handling.
