DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) director PCOL Peter B. Madria convened an emergency meeting with station commanders on Wednesday, Aug. 12, to enforce a heightened security directive across local schools following recent online threats.
The command conference brought together DCPO quad staff and station commanders overseeing high-density and affected school zones, including Police Station 2 (San Pedro), Police Station 13 (Mandug), Police Station 6 (Bunawan), and Police Station 4 (Sasa), alongside Deputy City Director for Operations Police Lieutenant Colonel Noel C. Asumen.
Madria issued strict orders for intelligence and operational units to accelerate ongoing investigations and unmask the individuals behind online bomb and shooting threats and file criminal charges against them.
He also directed officers to conduct lectures and safety briefings for students, faculty, and school administrators to promote campus vigilance and prevent panic.
Finally, he directed the station commanders to coordinate closely with barangay officials and mobilize community force multipliers for intelligence gathering and security augmentation, particularly in schools.
He reassured parents, educators, and students that local law enforcement is exhausting all available resources to ensure uninterrupted classes and maintain public order.
“DCPO remains steadfast in its commitment to proactive law enforcement, operational readiness, and community partnership, ensuring that schools continue to be safe environments for learning and development,” the city director stated.
