THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 98 individuals and seized 130.59 grams of shabu, valued at approximately ₱888,012, along with over 67 grams of marijuana from May 3 to May 9.

City police director Col Peter Bauzon Madria said they launched 39 anti-drug operations, leading to the arrest of 40 suspects.

The DCPO’s Warrant Section also conducted 37 operations that led to the capture of 37 individuals. Notably, 18 of those arrested were listed as “most wanted persons.”

The week-long operations also targeted other key areas of public safety:

  1. Loose firearms: Authorities arrested two suspects and processed 23 firearms through seizures, surrenders, and turn-ins for safekeeping.
  2. Illegal gambling: Nineteen operations resulted in the arrest of 19 gamblers and the filing of 29 formal cases, as police continue to target unauthorized betting operations in the barangays.

Madria emphasized that the total of 98 arrests underscores the police force’s commitment to strict law enforcement under human rights guidelines.

“These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of DCPO but also the strong partnership with the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit,” the DCPO chief added.
