CELEBRATING biodiversity, nature conservation, and strong partnership, the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) and Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) signed a five-year memorandum of understanding on Aug 5 to strengthen its ongoing Ayala Land Davao Carbon Forest (ADCF) campaign.
Since 2018, the ADCF has continued to stand as a pioneering model of urban reforestation and corporate-led conservation, as well as marking a milestone for sustainability and strategic collaborations over the years.
The MOU signing was attended by Jayson Ibanez, PEF director of operations; Anna Maria Gonzales, ALI head of sustainability; Jennylle Tupaz, ALI – VisMin senior project development head, and representatives from both parties.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources XI (DENR), stakeholders, and other partners also participated during the milestone event.
ADCF, a 50-hectare project situated in Bago Gallera, Davao City, was designed as a hub for experiential learning, biodiversity research, and climate action.

Over the next five years, it will serve as a permanent carbon sink, species sanctuary, and a model site for nature-based urban forest management.
The forest currently has over 30,000 native and endemic trees planted, comprising around 80 tree species, and is inhabited by a variety of wildlife animals, including reptiles, mammals, birds, and others, with some that are endangered.
