THE COAST Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) has placed its Duty Response Group (DRG) on heightened alert as it closely monitors the movement of Tropical Depression “Ada.”
As of the latest monitoring, the weather disturbance was spotted 485 kilometers east of Surigao City. It is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h, moving northwest at a speed of 20 km/h.
In light of the approaching storm, the Coast Guard has issued a strong advisory to all fishermen and operators of small vessels to exercise extreme caution. Rough sea conditions are expected, and the Coast Guard urges the maritime community to prioritize safety to prevent accidents at sea.
Authorities emphasized that rescue units are on standby and fully prepared to respond to maritime emergencies should the need arise.
