THE DAVAO Travel Agencies Association (DTAA) will bring together 60 exhibitors, travel agencies, hotels and resorts, and tour operators for the upcoming Davao Travel Expo this Mar. 5 to 7, 2027, at SM Lanang SMX Convention Center.
During the PEP Talks on Friday, Oct. 23, DTAA president Gian Carlo Caguiat announced that the expo will offer new popular destinations, giving more options to participants and globetrotters for their dream vacations.
One of the highlights is Canada for the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) during late August to mid-April.
This also includes countries in Central Asia such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan that were featured in the previous event last February, which was held at Ayala Malls Abreeza Activity Center.
Caguiat shared that the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) will also join the expo, as Japan is one of the top travelling spots of Davaoeños.
The three-day event will hold B2C (business-to-consumer) sessions to be participated in by accredited homegrown travel agents.
Amidst the ongoing oil crisis, Caguiat said domestic flights continue to operate, as traveling is essential for Mindanao in terms of business, and that a lot of Davaoeños still want to travel and plan their vacations.
To compensate, airliners and hotels give special rates for passengers and guests.
Previously named “Davao Mega Travel Sale,” the event is one of Mindanao’s leading travel expos offering the best travel discounts, promos, and exciting offers for locals.
It also aims to showcase unique travel services and products, as well as to provide opportunities to attract more visitors to Davao City and other places in Mindanao.
