WANDERLUST | A whirlwind weekend in Entertainment City

TOUCHING down in Metro Manila, I instantly felt the magnetic pull of Entertainment City in Parañaque—a vibrant hub where pulsating urban energy seamlessly blends with serene coastal escapes.

The best part? Every spot is effortlessly walkable from the next. With just a weekend to dive in during my last visit, I hit the ground running, exploring this reclaimed strip along Manila Bay that masterfully fuses culture, art, and Urban thrills.

My adventure kicked off at Parqal Mall, an open-air oasis that sparked my curiosity with its breezy layout of chic shops and tantalizing eateries. I meandered across lush lawns, caught a captivating live performance, and soaked in stunning bay vistas—this is retail therapy infused with tropical allure. It’s the kind of spot where time slips away, begging you to linger.

Next, I checked out Eternal Touches in the a:Museum at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, an immersive digital art wonderland swathed in glowing installations and interactive exhibits.

Stepping into trippy realms of light and color felt like a sensory explosion—perfect for snapping those envy-inducing Instagram shots. Not your jam? Don’t worry, this massive mall has 1,001 more tricks to show.

Now, if you’re into gaming, this expansive recreational playground is home to Solaire Resort, Okada Manila, and City of Dreams, all offering a variety of gaming, dining, and entertainment options in a world-class integrated resort setting. But fear not—beyond the tables, there’s a whirlwind of family-friendly activities that delight kids and adults alike.

Manila Bay Seaside after dark

Craving tranquility amid the buzz, I wandered to Bradco Avenue, where St. John Paul II Chapel offered a charming sanctuary of peace in the heart of the concrete jungle. For another serene escape, hop on a quick Angkas ride to the Shrine of Jesus, The Way, The Truth, and The Life, right across from SMX Convention Center.

As a thrilling teaser, the soon-to-open Westside City Grand Opera House promises to crown the Philippines as Asia’s Broadway, with its lavish 2,000-seat venue poised for spectacular shows.

The grand finale? Manila Bay Seaside, where sunset strolls along the promenade give way to street food feasts, carnival rides, chilled booze, and waves gently lapping the seawall—it’s pure magic under the early evening sky.

The perfect homebase at the heart to Entertainment City

To anchor my escapade, I checked in at Kingsford Hotel Manila, part of Megaworld Corporation’s chain of hotels and resorts. It’s the ultimate base camp, ideally positioned near every must-visit spot, boasting spacious rooms, top-notch amenities like an outdoor pool, gym, steam room, and warm Filipino hospitality. Kudos to its Halal certification, ensuring inclusive, health-conscious dining that welcomes every traveler with open arms.

Checking out after my two-night stay, I’m still buzzing, already dreaming of my next visit.
