THE BRUNEI Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) will hold a Trade and Tourism fair to support local SMEs and feature tourism opportunities at Ayala Malls Abreeza from Nov. 9 to 11.
The Trade and Tourism fair will provide a platform for local enterprises to showcase products and services, especially for export trading, as the participating countries will have one pavilion to exhibit at the event.
Department of Trade and Industry XI regional director Romeo Castañaga said there will be around 50 exhibitors if each country can maximize six to ten booths.
Products include a mix of Halal-certified food, commodities, and textile fashion and accessories in Mindanao.
Castañaga added that it will also add investment opportunities from the local government units and tables for business matching.
The event is also in conjunction with the 33rd BIMP-EAGA Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) and Ministerial Meeting (MM) to gather high-level officials from Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines on the milestone achievements of the regional cooperation within the year 2025.
Eamarie Gilayo from the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) international relations divisions said that each year, government agencies work on different projects that cover the BIMP-EAGA regional focused areas in the Philippines, Mindanao, and Palawan.
