THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) initiated a joint operation at the Davao City Jail Annex in Barangay Ma-a on Sept. 18.
Acting city police director Col Mannan C. Muarip said they collaborated with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology XI, led by DCJ-Annex warden JCInsp Rovie Ann N. Alcantara. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI, the 2nd City Mobile Force Company, and Police Station 16 also provided support.
The operation was designed to detect and prevent the entry and circulation of illegal drugs and other contraband within the facility, ensuring the safety, order, and discipline of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
Muarip emphasized that these types of partnerships between the PNP and jail management will protect the PDLs from the influence of illegal drugs and other prohibited items that could compromise rehabilitation and security.
