A 59-YEAR-OLD midwife was killed when she was run over by a trailer truck at 12:30 p.m. along Daang Maharlika Highway, in front of the Jollibee branch at Km. 14 in Panacan on Aug. 29.
Police identified the victim only as Gilda, a resident of Barangay Ilang, who was crossing the highway when tragedy struck.
Initial investigation revealed that the trailer truck was traveling from south to north in the innermost lane of the highway.
Gilda was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Alfer from Koronadal City, was immediately taken into custody.
