A HOWO truck plunged into a 10-foot roadside cliff after its engine reportedly malfunctioned along the Davao-Bukidnon National Highway around 5:20 p.m. on Aug. 21 in Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District.
The driver, Dan-Rey, was unharmed in the incident.
According to a police report, the truck, with plate number MAE 5889, was navigating a downward, curved section of the highway when its engine suddenly shut down.
As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which overshot the road, hit the steel railings, and fell off the cliff.
Both the driver and the vehicle owner opted for an amicable settlement, with the driver agreeing to cover the cost of all damages.
