THE 4TH Infantry (Diamond) Division sustained its winning streak against the NPA following a recent armed encounter with its troops in Barangay Dumalaguing, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, which resulted in the death of four rebels and the capture of a high-powered firearm.
Government forces were engaged in an intense encounter with armed members of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) in the hinterlands of Malaybalay City and Barangay Dumalaguing, Impasug-ong, all of Bukidnon, particularly within the Saldab Complex on Aug. 13, 2025.
The encounter was the result of the relentless, focused military operations carried out by the 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade, under the leadership of Brigadier General Seigfred C. Tubalado.
In response to the reliable information gathered from civilians in the area, combined ground forces from the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion, 1st Special Forces Battalion, 26th Infantry Battalion, 88th Infantry Battalion, 8th Infantry Battalion, and the 4th Division Reconnaissance Battalion were deployed to conduct focused military operations.
The operation resulted in the neutralization of four Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs)– 3 males and one female—and the recovery of one high-powered firearm and other war materials.

The remains of the deceased individuals were transported to the nearest funeral homes for appropriate funeral services.
The Brigade worked closely with the local government units, PNP, and other government agencies to locate the families of the deceased to extend burial assistance.
Tubalado commended the troops for their bravery, teamwork, and unwavering commitment, emphasizing that the operation forms part of the 403rd Infantry Brigade’s ongoing efforts to dismantle the remaining armed threat groups in Northern Mindanao.
“We reach out to you not as adversaries, but as fellow Filipinos. True courage is not found in bearing arms, but in embracing peace and returning to your loved ones. Don’t let your life be consumed by conflict. Choose peace. Choose your family. Choose a new beginning,” he said.
In his statement, 4ID Commander Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr. said the latest victory reflected the strong partnership between soldiers and communities, many of whom have long endured the NPA’s abuse, coercion, and deceit.
“It is unfortunate that our fellow Filipinos have lost their lives because of this futile armed struggle. These are wasted lives that could have been spared had they chosen to surrender earlier. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones to this senseless cause, for they, too, are victims,” Anayron said.
“Once again, I call on the remaining NPA members in the mountains to heed the call of our government and our people to avoid further loss of lives. You have already seen how these misguided ideologies have only brought destruction and division for decades. On the other hand, you have also witnessed how the government welcomes and supports those who return to the fold of the law. Let us end this senseless fight and work together in building our nation,” he added.
