THE SECURITY situation for the main events of the Kadayawan Festival, including the Pamulak sa Kadayawan and Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan, was “generally peaceful,” according to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).

In an interview on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, DCPO acting chief Col. Mannan Muarip told TIMES that the overall security assessment for the day’s festivities was positive.

‎Earlier on Sunday morning, Muarip conducted a walkthrough of the designated parade route on Aug. 17, 2025.

The inspection aimed to assess police visibility, evaluate security measures, and ensure effective crowd control along the stretch of the Kadayawan street parade.

‎Muarip’s presence underscores the Davao City Police Office’s commitment to safeguarding the public and maintaining order during one of the city’s most vibrant cultural events.

The walkthrough included coordination with ground commanders, inspection of strategic deployment points, and engagement with personnel stationed along the route.

‎“We want to assure our constituents and visitors that their safety remains our top priority. Our police force is fully mobilized to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration of Kadayawan,” Muarip stated during the inspection.

‎The Davao City Police Office continues to work closely with local government units, event organizers, and other security stakeholders to uphold the festive spirit of Kadayawan while maintaining public safety and peace.

Meanwhile, the successful security assessment reflects the coordinated efforts of various law enforcement agencies and organizers to ensure the safety of both participants and spectators throughout the major events.
