THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is reinforcing its commitment to legal excellence in police investigations, launching a Continuing Legal Education for Police Investigators (CLEPI) Seminar on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

The initiative aims to elevate the legal knowledge and ethical conduct of its investigative units.

The opening ceremony, held at Sandigan Hall, DCPO Headquarters, was spearheaded by DCPO Acting City Director Col Mannan C. Muarip.

He delivered a message of guidance and encouragement to the 31 participating investigators drawn from various police stations across Davao City.

Col Muarip was joined by Lt Col Jed G. Clamor, Deputy City Director for Administration, and Major Teresita P. Gaspan, Chief of the Human Resource Doctrine and Development (HRDD), underscoring the unified leadership’s dedication to fostering a culture of discipline, integrity, and continuous learning within the force.

In his address, PCOL Muarip emphasized the critical role of legal proficiency in modern policing.

He urged the investigators to approach the training with seriousness, stressing that “technical precision and strict adherence to lawful procedures are essential to building credible and effective investigations.”

He further highlighted the imperative for every police investigator to be “incorruptible, must personify integrity, and must remain firmly committed to upholding the rule of law—all in service to the people of Davao City.”

The CLEPI seminar, conducted quarterly, is designed to enhance the operational readiness and legal competency of DCPO investigators.

This particular session focused on crucial and evolving areas, including Cybercrimes, Cybercrime Laws, PNP Policies, and Criminal Investigation.

These topics ensure that police operations remain aligned with current legal frameworks and evolving judicial standards in an increasingly digital landscape.

By investing in continuous legal education, the DCPO reaffirms its mission to deliver effective, accountable, and legally sound service to Dabawenyos.

The program aims to equip every investigator with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the complex demands of law enforcement in today’s environment.
