THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is embarking on a renewed mission to redefine policing, guided by a new strategic framework championed by its acting director, Colonel Mannan Caracas Muarip.

This initiative, encapsulated by the acronym D.A.V.A.O. – Discipline, Action, Virtue, Accountability, and Order – aims to instill a culture of excellence and genuine public service within the city’s police force.

Col Muarip’s vision emphasizes that effective law enforcement extends beyond simply enforcing laws; it requires a deep commitment to integrity, honor, and a profound sense of public duty.

The D.A.V.A.O. principle serves as the cornerstone of this commitment, fostering a police force that is not only efficient but also morally grounded and community-focused.

The D.A.V.A.O. acronym breaks down as follows:

  1. Discipline forms the bedrock of every officer’s duty, ensuring adherence to protocols and professional conduct.
  2. Action signifies the DCPO’s unwavering commitment to swift and effective responses to the community’s needs.
  3. Virtue reinforces the importance of ethical behavior in all facets of law enforcement, promoting a morally upright police force.
  4. Accountability ensures transparency in all operations, fostering trust and a strong relationship with the public.
  5. Order upholds peace through professionalism and an unwavering respect for human rights.

This comprehensive approach is summarized in the core message: “DAVAO: Discipline in Action, Virtue with Accountability, and Order through Professional Service.”

Under Muarip’s leadership, the DCPO is committed to building a safer, more disciplined, and well-served Davaoeño community.

The new direction signals a proactive stance by the DCPO to uphold the highest standards of policing, ensuring that every interaction with the public reflects integrity and a deep sense of responsibility.

“Together, we forge forward — as one DAVAO,” Col Muarip stated, underscoring the collective effort required to achieve these ambitious goals. The implementation of the D.A.V.A.O. principle is expected to usher in a new era of policing in Davao City, marked by enhanced public trust and a more secure environment for its residents.
