THE LAND Transportation Office (LTO) XI and law enforcement agencies officially launched their joint operational deployment during a ceremonial send-off for “Oplan Ligtas Biyahe: Undas 2026” as Filipinos prepare to travel for the annual observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

The multi-agency initiative aims to enforce strict traffic discipline, prevent road accidents, and secure major thoroughfares and transit hubs across the Davao Region throughout the peak holiday period.

Joining forces with the LTO Regional Law Enforcement Section (RLES) for the joint operations are the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB XI), the Philippine Coast Guard’s Special Action Intelligence Committee for Transportation (PCG CGDSEM – SAICT), the Davao City Police Office Traffic Enforcement Unit and Traffic Investigators (PNP DCPO), and the PNP Highway Patrol Group (HPG RHPU XI).

In his address to deployed personnel, LTO XI regional director Atty. Raphael V. Robillo underscored the necessity of seamless inter-agency cooperation to handle the expected surge of motorists and commuters.

“Road safety, traffic discipline, and responsible driving are non-negotiable,” Robillo stated, emphasizing that active enforcement combined with public cooperation is essential to preventing casualties on the road.

The joint task force will be stationed across key highway checkpoints, bus terminals, and crowded corridors to inspect public utility vehicles (PUVs), check driver credentials, conduct sobriety and roadworthiness tests, and manage traffic flow.

Transport officials reminded commuters and drivers alike that maintaining safety on the roads remains a shared responsibility, urging everyone to observe traffic regulations and prioritize road safety throughout the Undas holiday.
