THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI seized over ₱8.1 million worth of smuggled goods and arrested three suspects during a nationwide nine-day anti-smuggling crackdown across the Davao Region.

From Oct. 1 to 9, 2026, region-wide operations yielded an estimated ₱8,129,585 in illegal contraband, marking a major blow against illicit trade networks operating in Southern Mindanao.

Newly installed PRO XI acting chief PBGEN Benigno L. Guzman praised operating units for the sustained drive, emphasizing that curbing contraband entry protects local commerce and government revenue.

“This accomplishment reflects our relentless commitment to stopping the entry, distribution, and sale of smuggled goods across the Davao Region. We must remain proactive in safeguarding legitimate businesses and consumers from illicit trade,” Guzman stated.

The top regional official stressed the necessity of intelligence-led operations, tight border coordination with line agencies, and community-level reporting to dismantle illegal supply chains. Authorities urge the public to report any information regarding smuggling operations to the nearest police station or via official law enforcement hotlines.
