THE 4TH Infantry Division has further strengthened its community-based security force following the graduation of 110 newly trained Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit Active Auxiliaries (CAAs).

The graduates completed the CAA-I Basic Military Training (BMT) at the 4th Division Training School in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026.

The newly trained auxiliary forces will serve as force multipliers, augmenting regular Army units in securing critical installations, gathering local intelligence, and supporting law enforcement operations across the 4ID’s area of responsibility covering Northern Mindanao and the Caraga regions.

During the rigorous training program, the recruits developed foundational military knowledge, tactical discipline, and combat skills, leveraging their deep familiarity with local terrain and communities.

MGEN Marion T. Angcao, commander of the 4ID, served as the keynote speaker during the closing ceremony, recognizing the graduates as crucial community-based frontliners.

“As frontliners, you are one of the most important forces of our Armed Forces,” Angcao said. “Because of your experience, knowledge of the area, and courage, you make a significant contribution to protecting our communities.”

The 4ID commander also described the CAAs as the Army’s “lead scouts” who act as early responders in identifying developments within their localities and guiding regular troops.

“You are our lead scouts—the first to see, the first to recognize the situation, and the first to lead our forces in the right direction,” he added.
