BUKIDNON Governor Rogelio N. Roque made a command visit to the headquarters of the 8th Infantry Battalion and lauded the unit for achieving zero active New People’s Army (NPA) presence in the province.
He personally commended the troops for neutralizing alias Rheda, secretary of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC), alongside remaining members of Headquarters Force NEO.
During the briefing, LTC Jeorge R. Jallorina, commanding officer of the 8IB, presented the latest operational updates, emphasizing how sustained focused military operations and community stability initiatives drove the insurgents out of the province.
Roque praised the officers and enlisted personnel for their courage and discipline, reaffirming the Provincial Government’s full commitment to locking in long-term peace through responsive governance and development programs in former conflict zones.
In response, Jallorina credited the success to the province’s local government-led counterinsurgency framework.
He stressed that the unified backing of the local government and partner stakeholders was vital in driving the Army’s triad operations—combining combat, intelligence, and civil-military strategies—to completely dismantle the NCMRC apparatus in Bukidnon.
