OPERATIVES of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit XI arrested a provincial-level high-value target and seized ₱544,000 worth of suspected shabu, along with a fragmentation grenade, following a search warrant operation in Barangay Inawayan, Sta. Cruz, on Monday morning, September 21.
Authorities served three search warrants issued by Executive Judge Maria Fe D. Orig-Maloloy-on of the Regional Trial Court Eleventh Judicial Region, Digos City, against alias Metsong/Chor, 44, a driver and resident of Purok Kalapati, Inawayan.
The PNP DEG SOU XI, with team leader Capt. Welquin Enciso, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11, led by LT Norbet Del Campo, Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station, led by CMS Alexis Estante, under the supervision of LTCOL George Sali-em, and Task Force Davao served the warrant.
During the search conducted at around 10:31 a.m., authorities recovered two large and three medium heat-sealed plastic sachets containing roughly 80 grams of suspected shabu.
Aside from the illegal drugs, operating units confiscated a hand grenade, a digital weighing scale, drug paraphernalia, improvised repacking tools, and ₱3,600 in cash.
Meanwhile, the suspect is currently held at the Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station, facing illegal drug possession charges under Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and illegal possession of explosives under PD 1866 (as amended by RA 9516).
