- Davao police search for motorcycle-riding robbers
THE DAVAO City Police Office looks to pin down the motorcycle-riding perpetrators following two separate robbery hold-up incidents that occurred within hours of each other on July 10, 2025.
The incidents, reported in Buhangin and Talomo districts, saw victims losing cash, mobile phones, and personal belongings.
According to a report from PS5 Buhangin, a robbery transpired around 11:45 a.m. on July 10 at Zone 1, San Antonio, Buhangin.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Ralph, a resident of the same area, had just picked up a parcel from a co-worker’s house. As he was about to board his motorcycle, an unidentified suspect, described as wearing a black jacket and black short pants, approached him.
The suspect pointed a .45 caliber pistol at Ralph’s stomach and forcibly took his brown sling bag. The bag contained approximately P6,500 in cash, an Honor smartphone valued at P24,000, and P1,800 in a GCash account.
The suspect then fled on a black and blue XRM motorcycle without a plate number, which was waiting a few meters away, heading towards Barangay Anglionto.
Police Major Clarian Dave S. Toboso, acting station commander of PS5 Buhangin, immediately dispatched duty investigator to verify the report and conduct an investigation.
Meanwhile, Talomo police also reported a similar incident that occurred earlier the same day, around 11:15 a.m., at Block 1 Lot 2, DSA Village, Balusong, Matina.
The victim, 24-year-old Russell, a J&T rider residing in Salakot Purok 2, Talomo, had just delivered a parcel when two unidentified male suspects on a motorcycle suddenly arrived.
The backrider reportedly pulled out an unknown type of handgun, pointed it at Russell, and forcibly took his sling bag. The stolen bag contained the victim’s driver’s license, various IDs, ₱4,000 in cash, an iPhone, and his motorcycle ignition key.
The suspects, described as wearing crash helmets and black bonnets, immediately fled towards Tahimik Avenue, Matina.
The Talomo Police Office received the call from Central 911 at 12:13 a.m. on July 10. Mobile 90, manned by PSSG Antegra and PSSG Gabato, was dispatched, followed by Intelligence and Investigation personnel led by P/Capt. Ramones, who proceeded to the scene for ocular investigation and appropriate action.
Intel and Investigation units are continuing hot pursuit and follow-up investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects.
