TROOPS from the 10th Infantry Division provided security support to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) operation that led to the arrest of five Chinese nationals in Trento, Agusan del Sur, military officials reported Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The joint operation was executed on Aug. 3 at the Mayokada Enterprise compound in Purok 4, Barangay Pulang Lupa, Trento, by BI officials, the 67th Infantry Battalion (67IB), regional intelligence units, and local government partners.

The military reported that the five foreign nationals were apprehended for alleged violations of Philippine immigration laws involving fraud, misrepresentation, and other regulatory offenses. They were immediately turned over to the Bureau of Immigration for the filing of administrative and criminal charges.

Major General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, highlighted the role of multi-agency coordination in safeguarding national security and maintaining local public order.

“The Philippine Army remains steadfast in supporting legitimate law enforcement operations that protect our national security and uphold the rule of law,” Luzon said in a statement. “This successful inter-agency effort demonstrates the government’s unified commitment to ensuring that all foreign nationals in the country comply with Philippine laws.”
