THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) dealt a significant blow to the local drug trade after seizing ₱1,577,600 worth of suspected shabu in two separate buy-bust operations on Tuesday, April 21.
The operations, conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit XI, led to the arrest of two “high-value individuals” and one “street-level individual.”
The first operation took place at 11:35 a.m. at Purok 41, Yñiguez Subdivision, Barangay Ma-a. Police arrested a 25-year-old suspect identified as Mart, a top-priority HVI, and his companion, 21-year-old Craig, an SLI.
Authorities recovered approximately ₱782,000 worth of suspected shabu, a ₱1,000 marked bill, 15 pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, a Samsung mobile phone, and a black NMAX motorcycle used by the suspects.
Later that evening, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a second team struck Purok 1, San Antonio Village in Barangay Matina Crossing.
This operation resulted in the arrest of Dennis, a 43-year-old resident and a top-priority HVI.During the sting, operatives confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱795,600, the buy-bust money, 14 pieces of boodle money, and a Tecno mobile phone.
The suspects are currently in police custody and face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)..
