FOUR PEOPLE were killed after a wing van truck lost control and slammed into a barangay gym and several parked vehicles in Marilog District at 10:09 a.m. on Saturday, April 11.

According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the fatalities include the truck driver, his passenger, and two bystanders. Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims pending notification of their next of kin.

Initial investigation suggested a tire blowout, which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle before it rammed into the Barangay Marilog Gym.

Personnel from the Marilog Police Station (PS12), Central 911, and Sambunotan responders immediately went to the scene to care for the injured, manage the situation, and recover the bodies.

The area has been deemed to be dangerous, with motorists advised to slow down, because of the sharp curve.
