AUTHORITIES apprehended one of the suspects in the robbery of a local bakery in Barangay Lubogan, Toril District at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
The suspect, identified only as Rusty, was arrested on Thursday, less than 24 hours after the crime occurred.
According to the report, the 22-year-old cashier identified as Nila was in the middle of counting the day’s sales when three unidentified men stormed the establishment.
One suspect pinned the victim down, pressing a knife into her side and ordered her not to move.
While she was held at knifepoint, the two accomplices ransacked the counter, fleeing with roughly P10,000 in cash.
Following a call to Central 911, investigators from Police Station 8 (Toril) launched an immediate probe.
By 3:49 p.m. on Feb. 19, police tracked the suspects in Upper Piedad, Toril, where they arrested Rusty.
The hunt continues for the two remaining suspects involved in the heist.
