- Two arrested as authorities seize P3.6-M worth of weed
TWO ALLEGED drug dealers fell in the entrapment operation launched by the Regional Special Enforcement Team-Davao City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI-SEMRO), and the Buhangin Police Station on Saturday morning.
The operation at Camella Homes, Barangay Communal, at around 9 a.m. on Jan. 31, led to the confiscation of P3.6 million worth of marijuana.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI spokesperson Nephi Noli Dimaandal identified the targets of the operation as alias Christian and alias Athena.
The duo was apprehended after allegedly conspiring to sell a self-sealing transparent plastic pouch containing suspected marijuana to an undercover agent for ₱5,000, according to Dimaandal.
Upon their arrest, authorities seized 11 more vacuum-sealed bricks of suspected dried marijuana leaves.
The confiscated drugs have an estimated total weight of 11 kilograms and a street value of approximately ₱3,600,000. The marked buy-bust money was also recovered at the scene.
The suspects are currently in custody and will face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
