DAMOSA Land Inc., together with PHINMA Hospitality, held a groundbreaking ceremony for “TRYP Wyndham Samal” on Jan 29, 2026, at Costa Azalea, Island Garden City of Samal, to open a global hotel icon designed with world-class architecture.

TRYP by Wyndham Samal will be the first four-star international hospitality brand on the island that is structured as a condotel development and aligned with the growing trend in the Philippines. It blends modern comfort with tropical charm, where hotel guests have access to Samal’s pristine white beaches.

As Samal is poised to become one of the country’s top tourist destinations, the condotel aims to strengthen the tourism sector of Davao del Norte, as well as to attract investments, bringing in travelers and property seekers.

During the launch, Island Garden City of Samal mayor Lemuel “Toto” Reyes said the project sends a clear message that Samal is open for business, forging partnerships, and ready for sustainable growth.

“Together, we are building not just a resort but a future for Samal to shine on global tourism,” he said.

The development has a land area of 3,060 sqm and a 10,684 sqm gross floor area that will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028 and open in the first quarter of 2029.

The estimated travel time is 25 minutes from the airport via the Samal Island–Davao City Connector (SIDC) bridge, and 15 minutes from Davao via private boat.

Featured rooms are Standard A and B, Family, Fitness, and Deluxe. Hotel amenities include a grand 240-seater ballroom, signature dining & bar, infinity-edged roofdeck pool, power fitness gym, kids’ adventure zone, game & play lounge, and beachfront access.
