MAJOR General Alvin V. Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, hosted the traditional New Year’s Call at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. on Jan. 14, 2026.

Addressing leaders from across the division’s brigades, battalions, and line units, Luzon underscored a vision for the year defined by the dual roles of the modern soldier: high-intensity readiness and community-focused service.

In his message, Luzon recognized the discipline and professionalism of every Agila trooper, from those serving on the frontlines to those performing vital support roles.

He reflected on the lessons of 2025 and expressed confidence in the Division’s readiness for 2026 and beyond, underscoring that the dedication, teamwork, and professionalism of every member remain the foundation of the Division’s strength, credibility, and service to the Filipino people.

“This year calls on us to be better leaders, stronger teammates, and more compassionate servants of the nation,” Luzon said, urging all personnel to remain true to the mission and serve with excellence amid uncertainty. “Together, as one Agila Division, we will rise to every challenge, soar higher, and accomplish every mission entrusted to us, continuing to be a force for peace, security, and hope.”

He also assured all personnel of his commitment to lead with fairness, transparency, and resolve throughout his tenure.

Immediately after the ceremony, the Agila Division conducted its first command conference of the year, where senior leaders discussed strategic direction, operational priorities, and key initiatives for Calendar Year 2026.

Following the conference, Luzon reiterated the Division’s unwavering mission and issued a clear call to action for all Agila troopers.

“Our mission is clear and absolute: we will be the bastion of peace and stability in this region. I expect every Agila Trooper to be a master of their craft—lethal in combat, disciplined in conduct, and compassionate in peace. We are not just an army in the community; we are the army of the people, and we will earn their trust anew every day through our integrity and our unwavering commitment to victory. Let us move forward with a bias for action and a shared purpose,” the division commander said.

The New Year’s Call is a longstanding military tradition where unit personnel pay a courtesy call to their commander, reaffirming loyalty, unity, and shared commitment as the organization moves forward into the new year.
