DCPO seizes ₱372,000 worth of marijuana in anti-drug sting
THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) caught two minors during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, as law enforcers seized an estimated ₱372,000 worth of suspected marijuana from the two suspects.
The operation, led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit at around 11:15 a.m. in Purok 15, Barangay 5-A, resulted in the arrest of two individuals, identified as alias Dang, 16 years old, and his cohort, alias Kaloy, 17.
Police listed alias Dang as Regional Priority Target Number 4.
The two were apprehended after they handed over one plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana leaves to the undercover officer for P500. Further inspection yielded two more plastic sachets, one plastic containing suspected marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, and one transparent plastic brick with what appeared to be weed.
Acting city director Colonel Mannan C. Muarip said the operation was part of the organization’s steadfast and intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
In a statement, the DCPO stressed that illegal drugs continue to pose a grave threat, fueling criminality and weakening the moral fabric of communities.
The operation, according to the DCPO, “stands as a testament to the commitment, discipline, and vigilance of DCPO personnel in their relentless efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities.”
The police office further urged the active cooperation of the community, emphasizing that through vigilance, timely reporting, and partnership with law enforcement, Davao City can remain a safe, drug-free, and peaceful community for all.
