- Baste issues stern warning to drug dealers
ACTING Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte threatened drug dealers, stating that a “day of reckoning” is coming for those who corrupt the youth with illicit substances, during the opening program for the annual Pasko Fiesta Celebration at Rizal Park on Thursday night, Nov. 27.
“We will make you pay. Remember that. That is why I am listing your names right now. You wait, because there will be a day of reckoning,” he addressed the cheering crowd.
Duterte targeted those involved in selling drugs to the youth, expressing his condemnation for the destruction of young minds and families.
“I have heard about you pushers, those lives you are destroying, those children you are feeding that shabu to—we will make you pay when the time comes. Remember that, we will make you pay when the time comes,” Duterte stated.
The mayor went on to mention the perceived immunity of drug dealers, referencing a recent, widely publicized comment by Senator Imee Marcos on her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“You are lucky now because the President’s sibling said that her brother is supposedly ‘bangag’ and an addict,” he added.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon has yet to confirm if they received Duterte’s alleged list.
Reward vs Bucol’s killers
Meanwhile, the bounty for information leading to the identification of the killers of Captain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol Jr. of Tres de Mayo, Digos City, has swelled to P5 million following the P1 million pledge from Duterte.

“Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte is informing the public that he will add P1,000,000.00 as a reward for anyone who can provide strong evidence and testify against the killer and the person who ordered the killing,” Atty. Torreon’s statement read.
The total P5 million reward now comprises:
- P1 Million from Acting Mayor Sebastian Duterte
- P1 Million from Vice President Sara Duterte

- P1 Million from Davao Occidental Congressman Claude Bautista
- P1 Million from the father of the late Captain Bucol
Mayor Duterte also showed his support by visiting the wake of the late Barangay Tres de Mayo chairman on Friday, Nov. 28.
