MAJOR General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division (10ID), joined the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) meeting in Davao City on Dec. 12 to tackle pressing security and development challenges across the Davao Region.

The high-level meeting served as a collaborative forum for security forces and local chief executives to discuss major regional issues, including counter-terrorism efforts, the prevailing peace and order climate, and strategies to deter criminality.

Luzon actively briefed the council members on regional security matters, providing updates on the 10ID’s anti-insurgency efforts.

The council also gave substantial focus to the regional illegal drug situation, highlighting the urgent need for reinforced inter-agency coordination to curb illegal drug activities and strengthen existing community-based rehabilitation programs.

In his address, Luzon underscored the 10ID’s firm commitment to sustained cooperation with local government units, law enforcement, and community partners.

He emphasized that effective information-sharing and proactive community engagement are vital pillars for maintaining peace and fostering inclusive development throughout the Davao Region and its adjacent provinces.

The meeting brought together security forces, local chief executives, national government agencies, and civil society organizations, signaling a united front against threats to peace and stability in the region.
